This notice explains how DoMyTax handles tax records in your browser, basic usage analytics and contact information.
Information stored in your browser
Original bank CSV text, transactions, classifications, GST treatments, business-use percentages, merchant rules, drafts and the latest archive are stored in IndexedDB or local storage in this browser. Importing, classification, calculation, editing, archive creation and archive verification happen in the browser. Bank records are not uploaded to DoMyTax for those operations.
Limits of local storage
Clearing site data, private browsing, resetting the browser or changing devices may remove local drafts and rules. DoMyTax does not provide cloud sync. Download your tax archive as a backup. You can clear the draft in the workspace or delete this site’s data in browser settings.
Operations that contact the server
Only basic usage analytics, a contact form you choose to submit, and requests needed to load the site code and offline merchant index reach the server. Analytics do not send CSV contents, filenames, transaction descriptions, amounts, account numbers, tax numbers, classification results or contact-message text.
Usage analytics
To understand whether the site is used and which stages are completed, DoMyTax records page views, guided starts, full-workspace entries, successful CSV imports, step-one completions and tax-information-ready events. The browser creates a random first-party session identifier and a visitor identifier lasting up to 30 days. The server stores salted hashes to estimate sessions and visitors. There is no device fingerprinting or cross-site tracking. Analytics failure never blocks tax work. Events are retained for up to 180 days.
Contacting DoMyTax
The contact form sends the name, email address, subject and message you choose to enter. Do not include CSV files, transactions, tax numbers or other sensitive tax information.
Hosting, logs and providers
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Workers, aggregate analytics are stored in Cloudflare D1, and contact email is sent through Cloudflare Email Service. Cloudflare may process necessary security, network and operational logs as part of running those services. DoMyTax does not use third-party advertising trackers.
Exporting, clearing and backing up
After checking a period, you can download a .domytax-archive.json archive and reopen it to inspect its source records. The workspace can clear the local draft. Browser site-data settings can remove drafts, rules and local analytics identifiers stored by this site.
Retention and deletion
Local tax records remain until you clear the draft or delete browser site data. Usage events are retained for up to 180 days. Contact emails follow normal mailbox retention; ask through the channel below about a specific message, although deletion depends on whether it remains within our control.
